EXPERIMENTAL PROJECTS

INTRUSIVE

SPACES

NTU ADM INTERACTIVE MEDIA PROJECT, 2019.

This is an interactive project that involves 'audio walks', as inspired by artist Janet Cardiff. Participants scan a QR code at a certain destination through their phones and get access to a video.

The video shows up as a visual walkthrough for the individual to follow, which reflects their surrounding in NTU’s School of Art, Design and Media. The video goes on for about 10 minutes long, narrated by my voice about ‘intrusive thoughts’.

By playing along with the audio walk, you will be able to experience what it is like to have irrational, intrusive thoughts come to you as you experience the school environment around you.

MATAPOLIS

NTU ADM INTERACTIVE MEDIA PROJECT, 2020.

A fictional tram tour in a dystopian world with too many rules. The project was done by 5 members including myself (in charge of art direction of the scenery). Participants were made to do certain interactions throughout the 'tour' in order for the narrative to proceed.

THE

PSYCHORITY

CLINIC

NTU ADM VISUAL COMMUNICATION PROJECT, 2019.

A project based on creating a new word. The fusion word, which does not have meaning attached to it, is given meaning. I decided to create the word "psychority" that is derived from the words "psychology" and "clarity". It referred to humans and their defense mechanisms but with a twist: these defense mechanisms are now physical just like how animals have fangs and venom to protect themselves.

In order to convey my new word, I made an exhibition focusing on showcasing a fictional clinic that specialised in "psychority". I made several deliverables that mattered to my made-up word: documents of patients, a website promoting said practice and several sculptures of previous patient's symptoms that show how a human could gain physical defense mechanisms.
